Ahhahaha when you write a risky thing and you put it up for feedback and nothing updates for an hour and you think oh no too far and each time you refresh you get a little more despondant and then that OH SHIT SOMEONE'S READ IT A WRITTEN SOMETHING punch to the gut that always comes with feedback and then you read and it's like 'Aaaaah :) '

*headdesk*

  1. I think that's exactly why I haven't had the heart to ask for feedback on anything yet. (also because my book's not done!) I don't think I can swallow critique until I've had some time to edit what I have. Maybe in a finished second draft I'd feel confident to let a select few take a look.
A tip given by Brandon Sanderson and even Stephen King: don't pay attention to feedback unless the same thing is brought up three times. If different people keep saying the same thing, then you should take a step back and look at it objectively.

Now if it's good feedback, then bring it on by the shovelloads!

    1. Haha it's always such a gamble whether it's going to be good or bad and it always gives me jitters, even when I *know* it's going to be good. NaNo's got some decent critique threads if you want to ease yourself it gently :)
